The Plan

As the 201st Legislative District’s next State Representative, Johnny will take a comprehensive approach to improving access to affordable, quality options for Pennsylvania’s seniors that will enable them to age in place and when needed with support within the 201st Legislative District and beyond. His plan will come from hand knowledge as a Healthcare Executive and will protect seniors from COVID-19, RSV, and other airborne viruses by ensuring that every facility serving seniors requires their staff and visitors adhere to CDC and Department of Health regulation’s . Johnny plans to work with the Governor and the private sector to lower the cost of health care by tackling the rising cost of prescription drugs and holding Big pharma accountable, and implementing a state reinsurance program to lower premiums. He will work with the Governor to create specialized savings plans that will allow seniors to cover the cost of care as they age.

The Work Ahead

• Require all employees in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or other long-term care facilities that serve seniors to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and ensure these facilities are adhering to CDC guidelines.
• Lower the cost of Rx drugs by creating a state watchdog that will set price limits on high-cost drugs and a Prescription Drug Legislation to give Pennsylvanian’s information about price increases.
• Lower health care premiums by standing up the state health exchange and implementing a reinsurance program.
• Deliver universal broadband and create a grant fund to allow seniors to leverage technologies like remote patient monitoring so they can safely age in place.
• Partner with the Governor and President Biden’s Administration to establish a specialized savings plan, for seniors so they can afford the cost of care and make necessary home modifications as they age.
• Expand veteran healthcare access by increasing telehealth options and access to broadband.
